Understanding Negative Usage

Negative usage in BevSpot represents unexplained growth for an inventory item. In other words, BevSpot thinks you’ve created more of this product out of thin air. Now of course that can’t actually happen, so this will usually indicate a data issue within your account.

There are really three main reasons you could be seeing negative usage in BevSpot:

  • Past inventory count error
  • Current inventory count error
  • Orders not logged or marked with the wrong date/time

Errors in usage should be addressed ASAP so you can make edits to correct them. Inaccurate usage data can lead to incorrect and misleading sales reports. We always want you to be making the best business decisions based off usage data and accurate sales reporting.
